Appointment of the CEO, Project Manager & Results of AGM

Angus & Ross plc ('A&R' or 'the Company') (AGU.L) is pleased to announce the appointment today of Nicholas J.H. Hall as Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Hall (61), a qualified chartered accountant, has had many years international experience of managing mining companies, including Rand London Ltd. in South Africa, Geevor Plc in the UK and PBS Coals Inc., in the USA.
Following this appointment, Robin Andrews is relinquishing the post of CEO but will retain the position of Executive Chairman.
The Company is also pleased to announce the appointment of Leon Coetzer as project manager of the Black Angel mine in Greenland. A South African qualified mining engineer with extensive experience of managing metalliferous mines, Mr. Coetzer was formerly employed by Gencor and the Redpath Group.
Chairman Robin Andrews commented: "These appointments strengthen both the executive management team and the Company's focus on the early re-opening of the Black Angel Mine.' The Company also announces that at the Annual General Meeting, held on October 2nd, all resolutions were passed unanimously"

Hall has previously been a director of the following companies:
None during the last 5 years Mr. Hall resigned as a director of Brookford Distributors Ltd. in June 1998. The company entered into administration in December 1998.
