New board and consultancy appointments

Angus and Ross plc is pleased to announce the appointment of two non-executive directors to the board of the company. They are Dr Tom Elder and Mr Malcolm Swallow. Both gained extensive experience of the Black Angel mine in Greenland, when they were employees of Cominco, the original owner of the mine. These appointments indicate the importance to Angus & Ross of the Black Angel project. The combined experience of the new directors with this particular property will be of considerable benefit to the company as it prepares for an extensive exploration and development programme in Greenland in the 2006 field season.
Dr Tom Elder, 66, has 40 years of international experience in exploration and mining in more than 20 countries, for precious metals, base metals and diamonds. His previous employment includes working for RTZ (now Rio Tinto plc), BP Minerals Ltd and Cominco. In 1966 and 1967, while with Cominco, he was the project leader in Greenland of the team that discovered what subsequently became the Black Angel mine. Tom is currently the President and the CEO of Mano River Resources and a non-exec director of Centamin, Egypt.
Mr Malcolm Swallow, 55, is a senior professional mining engineer with over 30 years’ experience principally with the evaluation, development, permitting, construction and operation of underground and open pit mines. While working for Cominco in 1980 Malcolm worked for the London-based team that was responsible for the operations of the Black Angel mine. He has since been the CEO of Anglesey Mining plc and Canadian Zinc Corporation. He is currently Chairman of Sydney Resource Corporation based in Vancouver.
In addition to the above appointments the company has retained Dr Robert Dowdell as a consultant. Robert spent 19 years with Cominco and in 1985 was appointed mine superintendent of Black Angel. In recent years he has been advising one of the largest zinc mining operations in Peru.
