The two technical teams, engineering and geological, are working
closely together on the development of the project. Many members
of these teams are “old Black Angel hands” having worked
on this project in the past. Nearly all have experience in Greenland
and in arctic mining.
The Engineering Team
The engineering team is focused on safe mining methods, mine design, processing plant design, infrastructure design as well as scheduling, project management, EPCM contracts and liaising with suppliers of equipment and construction companies.

Dr. Bob Dowdell (Mining Engineer, PhD in rock mechanics)
• 35 years zinc/lead experience

Malcolm Swallow (Mining Engineer – arctic zinc expert)
• Ex-Cominco/Black Angel and Canadian Zinc Corporation
• Non-exec director of Angus & Ross plc
The Geological Team
The geological team is responsible for re-evaluation and re-calculation of the ore reserves in the mine, re-interpretation of the existing drill records and geophysical records, finding new exploration targets, planning geophysical and geochemical surveys, and execution of the exploration program.

Brian Williams (Geophysicist)
• Discovered Black Angel’s Plateau-Nunngarut ore body
• Worked for Cominco, BHP, Noranda, Billiton, Anglo American and Rio Tinto
• 15 seasons in Greenland
Dr. Guy Della Valle (Exploration Geologist)
• Swiss geologist and mountaineer specialising in exploration in difficult terrain
• Involved with the Black Angel mine in 1970s
• Significant experience in all parts of Greenland and other arctic regions
Greg Barnes (Consulting Geologist)
• 35 years of experience
• 13 seasons in Greenland as field geologist
